May 27th: Save the date for some great pack work! Get ready for a 3h intensive training session focusing on pack communication and transitions: building walls and destroying them, your position in the pack, how to increase/decrease the speed of the pack, what to do when the jammer comes, and many more. We will have a 15min break after that, so you can freshen up for a 1 hour scrimmage afterwards in which you can all use your new superskills!
As this is an advanced bootcamp, you need have exceeded the WFTDA minimum skills requirements. We advise that all participants scrimmage regularly at practice, or have already participated in at least two scrimmages or bouts.
Participation is limited to a total of 30 skaters, we have 2 rinks so we can split up in groups. The cost is €12 per skater for 4 hours of instruction. If you do not wish to participate in skating but do want to watch and take notes, it's possible at the cost of €5. We recommend you having primary insurance when you play roller derby as it can get tough out there. All participants will be asked to sign a risk waiver.
Bring quad skates, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, a mouth guard and a helmet ofcourse. Also, bring a black and white shirt with your name and number written/sewed/whatever on the back. Safety pins are not allowed. IMPORTANT: don't forget to bring a pair of socks or a torn up T-shirt to put over your protection pads as we do not want to mess up our awesome floor!
The bootcamp will take place at our practice hall "De Meerminnen", Klapperstraat 103, 9120 Beveren, Belgium. We have an amazing wooden floor there, you WILL love it! We skate on wheels with hardness 86A-88A when you want to be grippy. Those who love to slide a bit more, can go up to 92A. Make sure your wheels still have some grooves to ensure a good grip.
To make sure everyone gets enough time on the track and bruises to take pictures of, we kindly ask everyone to arrive at the venue at 12h15 to register, sign the waivers and get geared up.
Refund policy;
After the 15th of May we don't offer refunds - but you may change the name on the registration to give another girl the chance to participate. Contact tickets@oneloverollerdolls.be to see if there is a waiting list.
